Introduction of Priority Photocards

Introduction of Priority Photocards on Rastrick High School Bus Services.

Following a consultation with the school and the bus operator, First, a Priority Photocard permit to travel system will be introduced.

This is to bring Rastrick High School services in line with the majority of other school bus services across West Yorkshire and will help to manage passenger numbers, bus operations and help in such circumstances where there are behavioural issues.

Which services are affected?

Services B10 and B11 only.

What is a Priority Photocard?

This is a permit to travel pass that must be shown to the bus driver upon boarding a service in order to be allowed to travel on that bus. The service is therefore closed to those without a pass and so travel will not be allowed. The pass is valid on one route only and is not transferable to another route (the route number is shown on the pass). It is not a fare payment card so a cash fare or season ticket must also be presented as usual. Read more about Priority Photocards.

How to apply for a pass:

Please complete this application form. It is done entirely online with no need to print out paper copies. You will need to upload a passport style 'head and shoulders' photograph.

Is there a deadline to submit an application?:

Applications should be submitted no later than the 31st December 2023. Applications will then be processed and the pass sent to you in the post.

When will the pass system be introduced?

This will be from week commencing Monday 15th January, 2024. From that date, passengers will need to show their Priority Photocard to the driver to be able to travel on these services. Passengers without a Priority Photocard will not be permitted to travel.

How long is a pass valid for?

Until the end of the current academic year, July 2024. You will then need to re-apply for the next academic year, September 2024. Watch out for publicity nearer the time showing how to do this.
