Free bus travel on Remembrance Sunday for veterans and military personnel

Operators who are part of the West Yorkshire Bus Alliance are offering free travel to serving Armed Forces personnel, cadets, and military veterans on Sunday 13th November.
Current and former members of the military who wish to take up the offer should show a military ID card or veteran’s badge to the driver when they board or wear their uniform or medals.
The bus operators offering free travel this Remembrance Sunday include First West Yorkshire, Arriva and Transdev.
On Sunday 13 November, across West Yorkshire, there will be Remembrance Day parades & services. Some bus services will be affected by these events. Visit Current bus alerts | Metro (wymetro.com) for details.
Mayor of West Yorkshire, Tracy Brabin, said:
“We are grateful to our armed forces for everything they do to keep us safe and we pay tribute to those who have tragically given their lives in service to our country.
“That’s why I’m proud to be supporting our bus operators to provide free travel to veterans and armed forces personnel this Remembrance Sunday.”
Train operators will also offer free travel for current and former armed forces personnel on Remembrance Day. Bus and train station announcements will be paused at 11am as the country observes two minutes’ silence.
