Almost 90% of the county’s bus services now offer Pay As You Go.

You can now use the new, white MCard for Pay As You Go bus journeys throughout West Yorkshire.

Single, return or operators’ own day tickets could already be purchased on services run by the county’s three main bus operators, Arriva, First and Transdev, and now twelve of West Yorkshire’s smaller bus companies are geared up to accept the new MCard.

The new, white MCard is available for free at Bus Station Travel Centres, or at a cost of £2 from Payzone stores.  You then pre-load the card with Pay As You Go travel to save having to use cash for your journeys.

To use the Pay As You Go MCard, just tell the driver your destination and which ticket you'd like. Then touch the card on to the bus card-reading machine.

Your fare will be deducted from the card and you will receive a paper ticket, which will show you the remaining balance on your card.  Your ticket should be kept for the duration of your journeys.
