New bus tickets for mature students and anyone aged under 26

19 September 2016

Young people under 26 years old and mature students can take advantage of cheaper bus and train travel in West Yorkshire.

The range of discounted travel tickets for 16-25/Student PhotoCard holders now includes weekly and monthly Bus only travel from as little as £15 per week and £58 per month.

For bus and train travel throughout West Yorkshire, tickets cost just £22.20 per week or £84 per month. Term-time tickets are also available at £240 for the autumn college term, which runs from Monday 19 September to Friday 17 December.

Under 26s can apply for their green 16-25/ Student PhotoCard online at www.m-card.co.uk. Mature students who have proof of being in full-time education can order their PhotoCard at Bus Station Travel Centres.

When the 16-25/Student PhotoCard arrives in the post, it’s ready to be topped-up with bus and rail travel at any of the 700 Payzone stores in West Yorkshire or at Bus Station travel centres. The 16-25/Student Bus and Rail travel ticket can also be topped-up at smart-enabled rail station ticket machines.

MCard now has around 100,000 cardholders. Over 1.1 million smartcard transactions take place on West Yorkshire’s buses and trains every week, meaning that over 30% of all bus transactions are now ‘smart’.
