Rail User Car Park Improvements at Keighley Rail Station

06 May 2011

Metro, Leeds City College (in Keighley), Bradford Council and Northern Rail worked together to improve car parking for rail users at Keighley rail station.

The new car park, which is at the end of the College access road off Dalton Lane provides:

  • 60 car parking spaces, with disabled parking for blue badge holders
  • A convenient drop-off and pick-up point
  • New level access on to Platform 1 (towards Bingley, Shipley, Bradford and Leeds)
  • Enhanced cycle parking facilities
  • New CCTV.

The other rail user car park on Low Mill Lane was also improved:

  • Car park surface work.
  • Reconfiguration of the car park layout.
  • New signage.
  • New CCTV.

A daily charge of £1 per day was introduced. This charge does not apply to holders of:

  • Annual MetroCards (Zones 1-4, 1-5 (+7), 2-5 only) or Keighley annual season ticket holders; however, holders of these tickets must get a car park permit from the ticket office to display in their windscreens.
  • A valid blue badge permit prominently displayed in vehicle.

The car parks are free to use by all rail users after 5pm Monday to Friday and all day Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.
