Consultation protocol

This consultation protocol outlines how the West Yorkshire Combined Authority engages with partners, stakeholders, customers and the wider community to seek to ensure that their views are used to inform and improve service and policy development.

WYCA has sole responsibility for the West Yorkshire Local Transport Plan, which sets out a 15 year strategy for developing and managing an integrated transport system that will support economic growth, reduce carbon dependency and improve quality of life.

WYCA has adopted 12 policies, which set the overall framework for its role in overseeing the Local Transport Plan and ensuring that transport supports the wider policy objectives of the West Yorkshire authorities. The following policy sets out our commitment to consultation:

  • Identify and consider, through consultation and other means, the current and future transport needs of people who live, work or do business in West Yorkshire, in the planning and provision of transport infrastructure and services.

Our approach to consultation and engagement

WYCA's approach to engagement covers a range of activities, including communications, market research, surveys, feedback and analysis of feedback.
