Hebden Bridge - Walkers are Welcome

Promoting walking in the Hebden Bridge area in connection with local bus services

Hebden Bridge - the first 'Walkers are Welcome' town

Hebden Bridge Walkers’ Action is a group of local people who love walking and want to encourage others to share their enjoyment.

There are many walks around Hebden Bridge and the beautiful South Pennines countryside and the 'Walkers are Welcome' team have devised a number of routes which can be accessed using local bus services 901 and 906. Here is some useful information to help keen walkers plan their visit to Hebden Bridge:

Self-guided walks

You will find the ‘Walking Bus’ leaflets at the Station Café, walking shops and the Visitor Centre in the town centre. These leaflets provide details of:

  • Twelve walks from the 906 summer bus to Hardcastle Crags and Widdop moor
  • Twelve walks from the 901 bus from Hebden Bridge to Huddersfield
  • Three walks to the surrounding hills
  • Sixteen gentle walks in the area

Guided walks

There are several organisations that lead walks around Hebden Bridge. For group walks, check out details at www.hbwalkersaction.org.uk

Walking shops

There are a number of outdoor shops in the area:

  • Mountain Wild, Crown Street
  • Rohan, St Georges Square
  • Alpine Outdoors,  Market Street
  • Springfield Camping, Luddendenfoot

Places to eat and drink
