Second stage of Pudsey Bus Station work begins

Closure from Sunday 14 February will mean temporary Market Place & Church Lane stands for all bus station services.

Artist's impression of how the new Pudsey Bus Station will look.Pudsey’s bus station on Market Place will close from Sunday 14 February 2010, so that Stage 2 of work on its replacement can get underway.

From that date all bus services that currently use stands P1, P2 and P3 will use temporary stands T1 and T2 in Market Place and T3 in Church Lane. Bus services will continue to use P4 and P5 in Church Lane as normal.

Posters about the changes are on display at the existing bus station and leaflets are also available.

When it is completed later this year, the £3m project will provide passengers with higher levels of comfort and security. It will be fully accessible, will include an enclosed waiting area together with real-time electronic information and CCTV which will be monitored 24 hours a day.

During Stage 3 work will be carried out on the highway and footpaths in Market Place and Church Lane.
